- You will surely enjoy this bag!
Yarn: Two (2) skeins Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted (wool/mohair single-ply yarn) in contrasting colors. For a solid-colored bag, one (1) 4oz skein (190yd/173m). Experiment with other yarns. In striped versions, use both colors from the same yarn line to encourage felting success.
Gauge: 4st/in stockinette in the round, before felting. Gauge is not crucial in this pattern, but if you know you habitually knit very tight or very loose, go up or down a needle size to adjust appropriately.
Needles: One (1) size 10.5US/6.5mm circular needles, cable length 16 22”/40 56cm (smaller is better for this project). Two (2) size 13US/9mm double-pointed needles (DPNs) for optional knitted handles.
Notions/Extras: 1 sheet 1/4" Flexible Craft Foam (one brand is “Foamies”); Four stitch markers, three in one color and one in green (or other contrast color); Sewing thread; Sharp sewing needle with thread-sized eye; optional sew-in magnet clasp or large snap; optional purchased handle(s), approximately 5”/14cm wide at base (or make your own with polymer clay if you do not use I-cord). Optional button for decoration only, sewn over magnet/snap.
Size: Finished bag varies by yarn and amount of felting, one Lamb's Pride bag measures 8.5"L x 5.25"W x 5" High (21.6 x 13.33 x 12.7 cm).
