Do you or someone you love avoid certain ingredients? Are you food-allergic, sensitive, celiac or vegan?
I have a long list of foods I can not eat. Buying treats at any store is not an option for me, but I missed some favorite foods.
As an artist, I experimented with alternative flours and other ingredients, so that I would not feel deprived. It was quite a journey! Chewy brownies took me 8 years of experimentation, for example.
This collection of ten (10) no-additive, good-ingredient recipes includes chewy brownies, pumpkin pie and gluten-free pie crust. There are 3 muffin recipes (applesauce, spice and cranberry), plus brown-sugar tapioca pudding, hot chocolate mix, pumpkin bread, and a delicious pumpkin butter/sauce which is great as a topping or as a substitute for jam.
Treats to Share with Others
Social gatherings bring temptation for those of us who suffer when we eat the wrong foods. As for me, I needed to make safe pumpkin pie or I knew I would cheat and pay for it later.
This book is full of recipes that work for me, and for my family. They are not a compromise, they are tasty for everyone! Take them to a potluck and go home with an empty pan.
My Wish
I hope I can rock your world, or that of someone you love. We get told what NOT to eat, but here is a collection of treats that can ease that message a bit, and help us live joyfully.
