This toe-up sock works well with handpainted yarns, and fits any leg shape!
The very stretchy stitch pattern fits. Just keep knitting until you reach the height you prefer.
The photo at right is a demo of ONE PAIR of matching socks. One sock is modeled by Anna, age 17… one by my friend Cynthia. The stitch pattern fits well no matter what curves you may sport (or not)! Knit longer for kneesocks on curvy legs.
Construction: Toe up, knit in round on DPNs, swirl toe with square start. Heel flap which falls under the foot. Heel turn at back of heel. Textured eyelet rib stretches to fit your leg. Knit as tall as you choose.
Sizes: XS / S / M / L / XL (to fit US shoe sizes 5 (6‑7 / 8‑9 / 10‑11, 12).
Needles: Size 1 US/2.25 mm, set of 5 DPNs. Adjust ndl size if needed to match gauge.
Yarn: XS and S, 4oz of heavy fingering-weight yarn for a single-yarn knee sock. I needed appx. 350yd for size XS.
Sizes L & XL (and possibly M) will need either contrast yarn for heels/toes/cuff or extra yardage to achieve full height.
Gauge: 7 st/inch 10 rounds/inch, stockinette in the round.
