I found three tablespoons of date sugar was a nice substitute for the brown sugar.  But I think I may have been able to get away with a little less than that, as they were plenty sweet.  I used all of the mentioned spices, and I used 100% teff flour. 

They are delicious!  Thanks for the wonderful recipe!</description>
