Weaving Intent

At Harvest Gathering a few weekends ago, someone had set up a vertical warp (something like what I understand to be a Navajo weaving) and a basket full of fabric strips. There was a sign asking passers-by to weave, be sure to put only natural (not synthetic) items into it, and weave with positive intent.

There were flowers and even a bone woven in, by the time it was all done. I added a plum/magenta piece myself. Weaving with my fingers rather than a piece of wood, is satisfying to me.

I hope you enjoy the photos.

I love that idea and I really love the photos. I’m just as addicted to color as you are!
It reminds me of the time Mark and I took the boys to First Night in Pittsburgh. We were invited to write our resolutions on strips of paper and put them in a basket. One by one, they were pulled out of the basket, stapled together and then knit (very carefully, I would imagine) into a paper fabric.
I love to encourage people to participate in any demonstration I am giving and I love questions!
