Slow through the Snow
Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005
Well, take a look at my beloved car, Joy Bug, in the driveway. I’m a lucky girl in retrospect, because I did not have to go out in the weather yesterday. It snowed for over 24 hours, and the early snow was wet and icy (read: heavy). Actually, as I look out my window, there are still a few sparse flakes coming down. Who knows when it will end… probably sometime in late April!
Poor Brian has been shoveling and shoveling. We have a long sidewalk around two sides of our small corner lot, and he sure got his exercise in these last few days. I really appreciate it that he does the shoveling. I’ve done lots of it in years past, and I’m just plain spoiled right now.
I was up until 3am working on a brochure for a computer consulting client. I was on a roll, because I also made a publicity brochure for The Fabulous Heftones yesterday. The client brochure is not due until Monday, but I decided to just plow ahead and finish while I was clicking right along.
So then I slept in. Because usually I don’t work until 2pm on Tuesdays, I didn’t worry about that. Until I checked my calendar when I woke up. I had made a coffee date with a new friend, which I swore was for Thursday morning. It was for Wednesday, which means I was asleep as she was waiting for me to meet her. Aaargh! (I typically check my calendar before I go to bed, to avoid these things… and somehow I skipped that thought last night.)
And now, when I look on my address database, for some reason I don’t have my friend’s phone number in there. I had to call her somehow to make the date, so why is it not there? I guess this means that the day will improve as it proceeds.
I do teach a private knitting lesson today, followed by CityKidz Knit! and then a dance class and a dance rehearsal. Rehearsals are getting more intense as the Habibi Dancers are preparing for our spring show. The show is April 9, at the Hannah Center auditorium in East Lansing. It’s a lovely space, and this is our third year there.
Off to shovel my car out…
