Mug Shot Day

LynnH, taken by Brian HefferanIn the last few days, Brian and my friend April have both taken photographs of me, for unrelated reasons. Brian’s shot is me on our porch, in front of the light-purple-trimmed old-fashioned windows.

April, on the other hand, got a photo of me with a bundle of our abundant wild roses in my hair, just as the sun was going down. I’m sort of amazed that the light held out enough for this photo, but I’m very happy with it.

LynnH, taken by April W.Oh… my Saturday was relaxed and delightful. I drove to Charlotte (MI, about 30 minutes from my house) to deliver a sample Fast Florida Footie to Kim at Yarn Garden. We have a class scheduled on July 9, a week from today. She has a big sale the morning of July 4 (Monday, a holiday in the USA), and I wanted my sample to be in her shop for last-minute students to see.

When I do a class at Kim’s shop, it’s more like a party. I do the class in one session, which is longer than some class sessions typically last. Therefore, folks bring goodies, and we laugh and eat and knit and laugh and eat and knit. I always enjoy myself fully!

I lucked out because for a short while Kim and I got to knit together outdoors in her garden behind the shop. Her dog, Purl, played fetch as much as Kim could stand to keep throwing the toy, and we had a very nice chat. So often I am there busy working, or there will be a crowd, and we can’t talk. I loved our time to chat today, in just about perfect weather.

Tomorrow/Sunday I visit a former computer student of mine. She’s a long-retired woman, an elegant lady indeed, who is a master gardener. I ran into her Saturday while shopping for vegetables and plants, and she offered to have me come and see her garden. I’m delighted! I need to wake up earlier than usual to do this, and I just don’t seem to get tired earlier on days I need to wake up early. I guess I’ll just be tired a while, but it will be worth it to see June’s garden.
