Habibi Dancers in 4th of July Parade, Lansing, MI
Sunday, July 2nd, 2006
For those who do not read here often, I am a member of a mideastern dance troupe called Habibi Dancers. For those who are into parades, look for me this 4th of July, we will be dancing in the downtown Lansing parade this year.
The parade starts at 11am. The city says the parade route is:
North on Washington to
Allegan, West to Capitol Avenue, South
on Capitol to Hillsdale
That doesn’t say where it starts, but staging areas are Hillsdale and Washington so it stays downtown very close to the Capitol lawn (where there are activities, see PDF Flyer from the City for more information).
I’m sort of hoping to get down to a Lansing Lugnuts game this weekend (minor league baseball, one of the coolest things in Lansing and I’m not a sports fan). Not only will there be the typical fun of a Lugnuts game (a hot dog gun, for example) but also they are having fireworks for 4 nights in a row. We can hear the fireworks at our house anyway, might as well wander down there and see it firsthand!
OK, back to knitting…
