Crazy-Busy

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

I’m happy but over-busy getting ready for the sale at Rae’s tomorrow. She has had a skein of my new Cashmere-blend yarn at the cash register for several days and it is getting very good input. We thought it was a sportweight but all the specs and the gauge she’s getting are saying it is a DK weight. This is a step bigger than sport and a step smaller than worsted. It’s a great squishy weight underfoot, and it fits in most shoes without a problem

The yarn is very nice, quite dense and smooth. Rae divided one skein (at least 225 yd) into two pieces, and she knit one size 8 US ladies’ sock, toe up, from the first half. This allowed her to use every last inch of the yarn. The rib is K3P1 and the leg is a bit longer than the foot. This means that any ladies’ size can get a pair out of one skein, though some will have longer and some shorter cuffs. I’m pleased.

Here are the colorways: Presenting the Sea and Sky Collection! I will have three to five skeins of each color (most colorways there will be only 3). I’m calling the yarn “Lynn’s Luxe.” It feels luxe to me, and those words sounded good together… naming can be a struggle at times, so I’m pleased to nail that down.

For folks out of town… we’re selling this only in person at Rae’s shop in Lansing tomorrow. After that she will have some in stock and will surely be willing to sell and ship. I’ll post that information once we know what’s left. If I’m lucky, we’ll sell out and I’ll have to order more white yarn to start over… crossing fingers.

Off to the studio!!!
