Vaudeville Video by Bucqui

Friday, May 1st, 2009

She did it again… Bonnie Bucqueroux (Bucqui) has done another bang-up job as videographer/editor extrordinaire.

She took video footage during the Vaudeville Voice of the City show we did a few weeks ago, and put together a little 4.5-minute Youtube video which does a great job of showing you the feel of the show.

We (Brian and I as The Fabulous Heftones) appear in the group number at 2 minutes into the video, as backup musicians. It’s about the whole, not about anyone in particular. The 4.5 minute video really gives a sense of the show.

For the record, the soloist for the “Let’s Misbehave” song played during most of the video, is none other than the uber-talented Laura Bates. She typically does a quite different style of music. This just shows how deep her talent can go in any direction. Class act.

(If you missed my first post about this show, click here to read it. I also put up a set of photos on Flickr.)

The blurb about the video shown on the Youtube page, lists those in the show. I’m grateful to have names now. Here is what Bucqui says on Youtube:

At the Central Methodist Church in Lansing on April 19, 2009, a fabulous troupe of new-age vaudevillians put on an amazing show – pit band Heartland Klezmorim, Magician Joshua Wilde, stilt walker Neil Sauter, hula hoop and sword swallower Rita Riggs, ventriloquist Tim Salisbur, the Fabulous Heftones and the Rumsey Ragamuffins featuring Laura Ann Bates, Paul Rich, Ben Corr, Kristina Rubritius, Katie Corr, Andy Callis.
